Hi Martyn,
Just been having a good nose through your blog and admiring your images – really great stuff. I thought I’d leave a comment on this post in particular as I treated myself to a Macbook Air at Xmas (to complement my MacPro at home) and also wanted a means to keep them in sync. I have been wondering about whether to opt for mobileme but initially have settled on a slightly less sophisticated solution – SyncMate to keep iCal and contacts in sync and ChronoSync to keep my e-mail folders in sync. Not as user-friendly as a cloud-based solution but perhaps easier to keep a handle on things. Having read your experience with mobileme this option has become slightly less desirable!
All the best,
David
David, Thanks for the comment. Chrono-sync is a good tool, I use it to compliment my timemachine backups but had not thought about using it for email.
My emails go though google apps so I use their exchange sync on the iPhone and imap access on my macbook. I would have a look through at the two options I suggest as the less you have to think about a solution, generally, the better it is.
